We wanted to write and tell you how absolutely amazing our time with Awapuhi Adventures was! This was our first trip to Maui and it won’t be our last! We booked the West Maui tour with Alicia. Our day began early and didn’t end until late in the afternoon. We saw the most amazing sights and got to do things you wouldn’t even know were available if you just visited the island. Alicia’s knowledge is immense and we learned things and saw things that other tours didn’t! My favorite part was getting to actually taste and smell the wild ginger flowers that she found outside the bamboo forest we visited! Other tour groups walked by us and I let them smell the flower! Alicia went out of her way to climb up the side of the hill to get the flowers for us. This showed us she truly cares about her group and goes the extra mile for them!

She put a lot of thought into our tour. We have two teenagers and she catered the tour to include lots of information and things for them! We swam in beautiful waterfall pools, hiked into the Bamboo forest and learned about the ancient people that lived there, snorkeled in Honolua Bay and viewed fantastic tide pools! All along the way we were given incredible information and history of the island and the people that lived there!

Her meals were to die for! She fed us breakfast and lunch that was all prepared right where we stopped. The food was extremely healthy and fresh! We loved it!!! I cannot wait to go back and take the Hana tour with her! For the price we paid, we were given fabulous memories on the photo CD she prepared for us and we made a lifelong friend in the process! She made our first trip to Maui very special!

I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed the hikes you led us on. Iao Valley was so awe inspiring...being in that beautiful forest and being fed by the land (strawberry guava YUM) gave me a sense of both peace and fulfillment. It has been a long time since I felt quite so connected to Mother Earth.

The trip to Hana was also great fun. I don't think I would have been able to handle that drive. The pool in the cave, the lava tube, the taro farm and of course the waterfalls were all such wonderful adventures.

Alicia, you do such a fantastic job as a guide. Your understanding of the history and culture of the islands, your commitment to this (and other) fragile ecologies, your spirit and sense of fun made these experiences so very rich. And finally, I have to mention that wonderful picnic...the fresh salads and fruits and lovely presentation were such a treat. All in all I have to say you challenged us physically, stimulated us intellectually and spiritually, and fed us elegantly....

We just returned from Hawaii where we were on the NCL Pride of America cruising between the islands. Hubby and I wanted to see a

lot and enjoy Maui when we docked there, but we weren't up for a real athletic adventure. Alicia customized our day perfectly! She was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Prompt, professional, extremely knowledgeable, personable, funny, as well as a great hostess preparing excellent food throughout the day. I recommend her HIGHLY for any style of tour you could possibly want on Maui. She's the PERFECT tour guide!
