West Maui Adventure

Your West Maui Adventure begins with a visit to ancient petroglyphs just south of Lahaina. We will then pass through Lahaina town, which was the centerpiece of the Hawaiian Kingdom and later the whaling capital of the world.

As we journey northwest around the ancient West Maui Mountains, also known as Mauna Kahālāwai, meaning "holding house of water," we will encounter an excellent location for taking pictures - the Honolua Bay overlook. This spot happens to be one of the few Marine Sanctuaries found on Maui. While driving along the cliffs, we will have the opportunity to stop and explore the blow-hole and other fascinating sights.

As we continue our journey, we arrive at a beautiful Hawaiian village which is one of the last truly subsistence communities on Maui. Here, we can explore the ancient Hawaiian political structure, an ahupuaa, and visit several galleries featuring local artists. We can also discover the most exhilarating ocean tide pools in the area.

If you would like to enjoy a more leisurely day driving around these majestic mountains, stop for the amazing views, taste the local flavors, and explore the world-class Turnbull Studios & Sculpture Garden, let us know, and we will customize this day for you!

If you still have room for more adventures, your day ends with a leisurely stroll through Iao Valley, a lush valley with vertical walls and interesting flora and fauna.

Duration

Our West Maui Adventure Tour is typically 6-7 hours and has a flexible start time. The departure point is Kahului, but we can arrange for pick-up if needed. The return time totally depends on how active you are. Our West Maui Adventure packs in a ton of tropical excitement, tailored to fit your vacation.

Breakfast / Lunch

• Let us know in the morning if you want to grab breakfast at a spot that offers smoothies, juices, coffee, and breakfast sandwiches.
• For lunch, we can order delicious sandwiches from Hana Picnic Lunch. 
• You can also opt for a fantastic sit-down meal in the open-air venue of the Cafe O’Lei restaurant at the Mill House in Wailuku!
• Ask us about a private tour & lunch with the Turnbulls!

*Please let us know at least 24 hours in advance if you would like us to order sandwiches from Hana Picnic Lunch for any of our tours. Additionally, Kosher picnic lunches from Maui Kosher Farm are available upon request, but we require at least 7 days’ notice for those. We are also happy to accommodate special dietary needs—just ask!

No Age Limit

Our private tours do not have an age limit as long as the keiki (little ones) are up for it. Babies should be carried as you would at home, but as long as toddlers can walk, we can take them into the rainforest. It is advised to bring your child's car seat and any specific snacks they may desire for the day.

Children under 2 years old ride free!
